Thanks. Great story. Let us know when the bed and breakfast is open…
Going with the trend these days, I would use the apples to make ethanol as alternative fuel
well, I guess I would make apple cider and get drunk all over the place – at least that’s what we did when I was young with my dad in bavaria ::)). But nice article though – let’s hope some people inside Jordan read it. Usually the lack of local community is not really an education issue only, but also an issue of the every increasing media bombardment that keeps kids to get out under the apple trees and build the conciousness around their surroundings…
Rakan & Tala, reading this article and viewing the photos made my day, from the photos i can smell the fresh scent of the apple, thank you both for bringing the innocent memories back.
Right now, if life gave me an apple, I would hug it, keep it close to me and devour it after iftar!
A real eye-opener…
ya 7araam hal toffa7a =)
When I read the last post for you Rakan, I can smell these apples, and leave the feeling of staying in such a big farm.
The way to Shobak, when we were kids felt like endless hours (Dad: why they didn’t place Shobak here, there is space!!)We used to complain.
when someone new visits the farm, and we started to show him around, I feel that am more attached to this farm, our childhood memories, the gathering of the whole family, the playing, sleeping time (how we fight over the pillows, because there is not enough for all of us), it’s sometimes hard to discuss and share those feelings with others, simply they won’t understand how great those days were. All of our family has this strange thing in our character called “Shobbak daysâ€.
Rakan – Thank you for your article. I believe ’7alo Zuhair will be happy to read your words.
Next time when we meet enshalla I will tell you more about Shobak family memories. Did Tala tell you that 15 members of our family were stucked there for 2 days during a snow storm ?
